Mark Koziel, CPA, CGMA

President and Chief Executive Officer

Mark Koziel became President and CEO of Allinial Global in August 2020 after 14 years with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). In addition to leading a team of twenty-seven staff members, he is responsible for strategic planning, financial performance, and the association’s overall growth and success.

From the beginning of his career at a large local accounting firm in Buffalo, New York, to his tenure as Executive Vice President of Firm Services at the AICPA, Mark has been a leader and consistent advocate for CPA firms. Well known and highly regarded within the profession, he has appeared among the top 10 of Accounting Today’s Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting and been named to the International Accounting Bulletin’s Global Accounting Power 50 List.

Stephen Varley, CPA, CGMA

COO and Executive Vice President of Technical Services

As Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President of Technical Services, Steve Varley has a broad range of responsibilities. In addition to assisting our members with all aspects of technical resources and solutions, he oversees governance and operations of the association. Steve also serves as a liaison to technical committees and coordinates solutions to the questions posed to Allinial Global by member firms.

Steve has over 30 years of public accounting and industry experience. His background in public accounting includes work for both local and regional CPA firms, with experience in A&A, tax, employee benefit plan administration and audits, M&A, and due diligence engagements. Beyond this, Steve’s additional industry work includes capital development consulting and serving as Controller/CFO for a troubled aerospace manufacturing company.

Lara Joseph

Executive Vice President of Member Services

Lara Joseph joined Allinial Global in 2011 as Project Coordinator but now serves as Executive Vice President of Member Services. In this role, she works directly with the CEO and market directors to identify and develop strategic relationships with prospective member firms. She is also responsible for onboarding new member firms, directing members to resources, planning and executing international events, managing the Sponsors and Affinity Programs, and working hand-in-hand with members to establish third-party solutions that create value for the membership.

Lara’s areas of expertise include business analysis, HR and operations management, and strategic management. She earned her BS in managerial sciences from Georgia State University.

Rosa Chun

Vice President of Marketing Services

As Vice President of Marketing Services, Rosa works closely with the business development and marketing professionals of Allinial Global member firms to develop, cultivate, and enhance member communities focused on practice growth. She also collaborates with other EVPs/VPs to plan and execute strategies for communications and a cohesive member experience. Last but not least, she provides marketing support for the recruiting efforts of the regional directors at Allinial Global.

With over 18 years of B2B marketing experience, Rosa has a passion for marketing technology and often guides members in leveraging new and emerging marketing technology for the profession. Having worked with both startups and Fortune 100 companies, Rosa is an advocate for mid-market companies both internally and externally. She has an MBA in marketing from the University of Southern California and is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Emory University with a degree in philosophy and psychology.

Karen Jenkins

Vice President of Meeting Services

Karen Jenkins joined Allinial Global in 2013 as Program Manager but now serves as Vice President of Meeting Services. As the leader of the Meeting Services team, she manages our international programs, our two larger conferences (Summit and the Executive Team Conference), and various other partner-level programs.

Before coming to Allinial Global, Karen spent seventeen years at KPMG, where she was an associate director responsible for the Southeast and Southwest areas. Her areas of expertise include management of fiscally responsible budgets, facility contract negotiation, and program execution. Karen earned her BA from the University of Vermont.

Maughtlyn Thomas

Vice President of Member Engagement – Communities

Maughtlyn joined Allinial Global in 2010 as a project administrator and now serves as Vice President of Member Engagement. In this role, she works with the meetings team to develop and facilitate face-to-face meetings and web-based collaborative environments for our Communities of Practice. Maughtlyn’s support helps community leaders and members communicate, connect, and conduct activities that help them identify new solutions collaboratively.

Maughtlyn holds a bachelor’s degree in business communication from Sutton Coldfield College, Sutton Coldfield, UK. Having worked for the Department of State for many years, she developed a focus on client service and relationship building that makes her particularly well-suited to facilitating collaboration across the Allinial Global membership.

Jessica Cormier

Vice President of Talent Development

As Vice President of Talent Development, Jessica addresses member needs relating to both human resources and learning and development. A 2014 graduate of the AICPA Leadership Academy, she has more than 17 years of experience in business leadership, financial management, and public accounting. Jessica is a 2017 recipient of the Louisiana Society of CPAs’ Women to Watch Emerging Leader Award.

Before her most recent role as director of finance for the Louisiana High School Athletic Association, Jessica served as a fraud, forensic, and litigation services manager at Horne LLP, where she led fraud investigations and assisted in litigation support engagements.

Özgür Demirdöven

Executive Vice President of Global Commerce
Interim Regional Director, EMEIA

Özgür joined Allinial Global in 2021 as director of the association’s growing EMEI region. In this role, he is responsible for new member recruitment and addressing the needs of EMEI member firms.

With 25 years of experience leading professional services, audit, finance, marketing, operations, and sales functions in multinational and entrepreneurial organizations, Özgür has deep knowledge of the accounting profession and global business trends. In addition to working for PricewaterhouseCoopers, General Electric, Prysmian Group, and Turkcell Group, he also has valuable experience with global accounting associations. From 2018–2020 Özgür served as CEO of IAPA, following several years of service as an IAPA regional and international board member and EMEA regional chair.

REGIONAL DIRECTORS

Luca Traini

Regional Director, Africa

In his role as Regional Director of Africa, Luca is tasked with building relationships and growing the association’s regional membership in Africa. In addition to connecting our African members to the wider Allinial Global community, he is also responsible for coordinating the delivery of member services.

Luca completed his training contract with PKF Durban, where he quickly progressed to audit supervisor. He has worked in financial services and wealth management, started his own company in advertising and print, and served as the national credit risk manager for a JSE listed entity. As a business consultant, Luca has successfully counseled many businesses on startup, expansion, and increased profitability. Throughout his career he has stayed close to his passion of training and education, lecturing in finance and audit for numerous firms and South African universities.

Ana Isabel Navarro

Regional Director, Latin America

Based in Mexico City, Ana Isabel Navarro serves as Regional Director of Latin America. In this role, she is responsible for coordinating member services and regional meetings, building relationships and growing the association’s Latin American membership, and connecting our Latin American members to the wider Allinial Global community.

Ana Isabel began her career as an international relations specialist in the Mexican government. There, she focused on building the “Mexico Brand” project, which consisted of improving Mexico’s reputation, attracting tourism and investment capital, increasing exports, recruiting a talented and creative workforce, and enhancing Mexico’s cultural and political influence in the world. Most recently, Ana Isabel worked for a member firm of PKF, where she built strong ongoing relationships between the firm and other members, advised clients on establishing their footprint in Mexico, and expanded commercial opportunities for everyone.

Abby Chee

Regional Director, Asia Pacific

As Regional Director of Asia Pacific, Abby Chee focuses on a variety of targeted business development and member service initiatives. Located in Malaysia’s capital city of Kuala Lumpur, she serves as a liaison between our regional membership and the wider Allinial Global community. In addition to addressing the needs of current members, Abby is also responsible for building relationships that help the association expand its presence in the Asia Pacific region.

Abby brings a wealth of international experience and deep knowledge of the Asia Pacific region to her role. Before joining Allinial Global, she served as Regional Manager, Asia Pacific for Baker Tilly International, coordinating business development and marketing strategies and supporting regional member firms and clients. Prior to that, she was the executive director of the Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia (IIA Malaysia), where she provided leadership, organized professional development opportunities, and spearheaded rebranding efforts.

Adam French

Regional Director, Canada

Adam serves as a dedicated resource for the association’s Canadian market, with a focus on growing regional membership, maintaining member relations, and introducing valuable Allinial Global products and services to our Canadian members.

Adam holds a master’s degree in business administration with a focus on international business from the University of Munich of Applied Sciences, as well as a master of management with a focus on management from Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia. Skilled in development, stakeholder management, business development, and project management, he focuses on growing the association’s Canadian membership, strengthening relationships among regional peers, and addressing the most pressing membership needs for Canadian member firms.

Natasha Schamberger, CPA

Regional Director, North America

As Regional Director of North America, Natasha is responsible for driving new value for North American member firms through enhanced commerce, connectivity, and member services, and for supporting growth by recruiting new members.

Natasha is focused on discovering meaningful, future-focused results for CPAs, their firms, and the accounting profession. Before joining Allinial Global, she served as CEO and President of the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants (KSCPA), where she effectively executed strategic initiatives, promoted the interests and livelihood of CPAs, and most notably, established the Accounting Career Kick-Start Program, collaborating with key partners of the overall accounting ecosystem to inspire young talent to choose accounting. Prior to that, Natasha was the Associate Director of Firm Services at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), where she led the Firm Services Team and spearheaded practice management initiatives on succession, practice growth, and changing firm business models.
